Do I Have To Certify?
Certification is not mandatory. However, if someone is certified through our company, it means they have demonstrated adequate mastery of the core information and techniques they were taught in the Consultant Training Course.
How Much Time Do I Have To Certify?
You must submit your certification documents to the Sisterlocks Home Office within two years from your original training date/month if you wish to become certified. After this date, if you have not submitted at least the documents for your First Qualifying Client, you status will change from “ACTIVE” to “INACTIVE”
How Long Does The Process Take?
Certification evaluations can take anywhere from two to six months, depending on how many people are in line for evaluation ahead of you, how complete your packet is, and how close to the filing deadline the files are received. There are two filing periods per year.
Status Updates & Listings
When the Sisterlocks Home Office receives a certification file, we log it in and put it in the queue for evaluation. We then send an email to the Trainee to acknowledge receipt and remind them of the approximate timeline for evaluation.
Trainee Certification
What it takes to Certify.
Trainees have 2 years from the end of their class to submit all documentation for 3 qualifying clients. Begin by sending in the 1st client only; wait for evaluation; send in remainder.
Don’t wait for your time to run out! After submitting the first client, the 2-year time clock stops ticking. This means that your file is either in queue waiting for evaluation or already being evaluated.
Pay close attention to your evaluator’s comments and instructions after the first client evaluation. Some trainees may be upgraded to “Approved” status at this time if the evaluator has found only a few errors
The clock starts ticking again after your first client is evaluated. This time you have 1 year to submit all remaining documentation; wait for evaluator’s determination – “certified” or “submit additional information.”
If you don’t achieve certification on your first try, you have one additional year to adequately respond to all of the evaluator’s requirements.

We consider someone to be ACTIVE and in good standing when they have no unresolved complaints against them and they have not exceeded the time limitations for certification or re-certification. To remain in good standing, always uphold the Sisterlocks standards of professionalism, honesty and integrity. :
- Your successful completion of either our Blended program (online and in-person) or our 3-Day program (all in-person) gets you a FREE, automatic two-year listing as an “ACTIVE” Trainee. HOWEVER, we encourage you to Certify as quickly as possible.
- Ours is the only official listing of all active Certified Consultants and Trainees in good standing. Clients concerned about getting a Sisterlocks, Sisterlocks-XL or Brotherlocks establishment done will search here first.
